Town Council Elections 2007
Councillor Stephen Clee retired from Stourport Town Council at the Council elections
in May 2007 after serving 8 years on the town council.
The elections saw Health Concern stand for the first time and get 9 councillors elected.The composition of the Council
is now;
Conservative - 8
Health Concern - 9
Labour - 1
Shock death of town champion
FAMILY, friends and colleagues of the charismatic former Mayor of Stourport Mick Grinnall are in shock after he died suddenly
on Tuesday 9th September 2003.

Three days earlier he had taken part in the carnival parade through the town where he was born and which he served as a
councillor for more than 20 years.
Mick was found dead in his flat at Swan Passage on Tuesday afternoon. He had been a businessman for 30 years when he ran
the family builders' merchant and was a committed Labour supporter.
Mick, who served as a Wyre Forest district councillor for Stourport, was mayor in 1997-98 and again in 2001-02.
Stephen Clee said: "Mick was an active member of the town council and will be sadly missed by members on all sides of the
council chamber.
"Personally, we were sparring partners but privately we both cared passionately about improving the lives of residents
of Stourport."
Mick leaves two sons, two grandsons and two granddaughters.
The funeral will be a Civic Event - Held at St Michaels Church Stourport-on-Severn on Friday 19th September 2003 at 12.30pm.
Stephen Clee was elected to Stourport Town Council in May 1999 representing North Ward. He was relected to the town council
in May 2003 when he successfully defended his seat.
The Conservatives swept back to power in 2003 gaining 11 of the 18 seats on the new town council. Labour have been reduced
to 6 seats with a sole Liberal Democrat councillor.
The Town Council sets its own precept annually and acts as a very important link for the local community in North Worcestershire.
